Wedding Photography in utah,

is definitely a reflection of the entire story of your day. If your theme or colors aren't right, they might not be telling the story that you want to be telling, or reflect in the look you want for your photography. As a photographer, I can do magic, but I can not really make blacks and reds translate to light and airy photos, or photos in a dark and yellow reception venue look bright and white.

Planning a wedding

can be really overwhelming. Lucky for you, I am here to help you! I have learned a thing or two about what can make a wedding day feel like it is cohesive and reflects the couple, resulting in a super beautiful day that everyone will enjoy and remember! Here are my top wedding planning tips for wedding photography in Utah:

At first..

1 - THINK BIG PICTURE

Picture your dream wedding. This is the dreaming phase, so don't worry about how much something will cost or how it will work, just picture your dream wedding. What do you see? Here are a couple of questions to consider while everything is coming together in your head.

  • Big or intimate?
  • Outdoors or indoors?
  • Hometown or destination?
  • Modern, classic, romantic, vintage, rustic or all-out glam?
  • Fancy, casual or somewhere in between?
  • Spring, summer, winter or fall?

2 - CONSIDER HIRING A WEDDING PLANNER.

I know this isn't a popular choice in Utah, but if you are truly wanting somebody to help you understand how your wedding can be a reflection of you, there is no person better prepared to help you do this than a wedding planner. They can help you create the vision, or take any existing vision and bring it to life, all within the parameters of your budget.

Trust me, you will not regret hiring somebody to help you create the wedding of your dreams! I work with 2 truly incredible wedding planners on a regular basis, and I would happily give you their information.

3 - SPEND SOME TIME researching

The first step to planning your wedding photography session is to do some research. You want to make sure that you're getting the right photographer for your needs. Start by looking through bridal magazines, browsing online, and reading reviews.

Once you've found someone who seems like a good fit, ask for samples of their work. Make sure that you get a feel for their personality and style before signing any contracts.

4 - PICKING YOUR COLORS!

Color is a unifying factor among all your wedding elements. You may want to consider using a single color scheme throughout your wedding. This could include a color theme for your invitations, table settings, and even your bridal bouquet.

However, if you're looking for a little variety, try adding some metallic accents to your wedding decor. These could include gold details on your flowers, silver accents on your cake, or even a hint of gold on your dress.

5 - REMEMBER THE VIBE YOU WANT!

In addition to choosing the perfect venue, you should also consider the type of event you want to host. Are you looking for a formal affair, or would you prefer a laid back gathering where people can mingle and enjoy each others company?

This choice will affect how you plan your wedding day. If you’re planning a traditional ceremony, you may choose to hold it in a church or temple, or if you’re having a beach wedding, you may opt for a reception at a seaside resort.

Whatever you decide, make sure you pick a location that reflects who you are as individuals and as a couple.

6- Pick the location that fits your theme

and will result in the type of images that you love. If you book a dark moody venue, you will not be able to get light and airy photos with any photographer.

There are many reasons why people choose to get married in Utah. Some couples want to experience the beauty of the state's natural surroundings, while others simply love the idea of getting married in a place where everybody knows each other. Whatever the reason, there are plenty of places to get married in Utah, so it's important to find the right location for your special day.
